SIRIUS/NEXUS 2- UNFINISHED

Amongst a few prominent titles of my youth, Last Ninja 2, Exploding Fist 2, Tusker, Nexus on the C64 has always been one of my favourites. God knows by because it had a kind of buggy/unfinished feel to it, but it was really addictive and the background story had a Metal Gear-like sophistication that I always felt was never fully explored. I won't go into details- just check out a review I wrote for it on Lemon 64 HERE The scope of the game is a little large though, which has always prevented me from fully exerting all my efforts into it.

I've a few ideas on how I can improve on the original, firstly combat will be split between hand-to-hand and using a kind of unique weapon the character has, a kind of laser bow that fires pulse arrows. It will use a mechanic similar to UltraSports Archery in fact. You'll still have to eliminate enemies in the same way as in the original game, by flipping onto their heads. It'll all take some skill to do.

Basically coding in AS2 is most likely possible, but AS2 has a hard-time calculating anything fps crunching effects, such as particles and blurring/scaling, so probably I'll end up converting this to AS3. What you see here is an AS2 prototype that has features like hunting through rooms, using the elevator to change levels and some combat moves.
